It is our pleasure to welcome this week to CrimeWAV Craig McDonald. This is one nasty tale and be warned that it contains violence and torture and may not be suitable even for the hardest of hardcore fans. This week Craig will read his short story Devil’s in the Details. If you are interested you follow the story arc with Broken over at Hardluck Stories and These Two Guys over at Thug Lit.

Craig McDonald is an award-winning journalist, editor and fiction writer. His debut novel, HEAD GAMES, was a 2008 Edgar®, Anthony and Gumshoe finalist for Best First Novel. TOROS & TORSOS appeared in 2008 and made several years’ best lists.

His nonfiction books include ART IN THE BLOOD and ROGUE MALES: CONVERSATIONS AND CONFRONTATIONS ABOUT THE WRITING LIFE.

PRINT THE LEGEND, his third novel, is forthcoming February 2010 from Minotaur Books. PRINT THE LEGEND finds crime novelist Hector Lassiter looking into the circumstances of Ernest Hemingway’s suicide and emerging manuscripts purported to be Hemingway’s work. As Hector digs into the mystery of Hemingway's lost writings, he uncovers an audacious, decades-long conspiracy tied to the emergent art movements of 1920's Paris, the most duplicitous of Cold War espionage tactics, and J. Edgar Hoover's FBI.

This week we're also pleased to announce two upcoming classes with Seth Harwood. The first, an online class through Stanford's Online Writer's Studio is The Essential Art: Making Movies in Your Reader's Mind. Registration opens on 11/30 and the class runs from Jan 11-Mar 19 (ten weeks). For those of you in San Francisco, Seth is also teaching Detective Fiction this spring at City College of SF on Thursday nights. For more info, email here.
